Top Questions for the Organizer
Context
You are making a big investment on a trade show, you must be expecting a return on investment (ROI).
To get a proper ROI, you need to be clear about your minimum expectations and measurable goals.
Your key objectives could be around
- Brand awareness – How do you measure that? Many brands struggle with that question. Ask us if necessary.
- Sales / Hot leads – How many? When? How?
- Connections with Buyers (independent boutique, Department Store, Pure Player, Marketplace), Press, Consultants, Service Providers …
It is totally acceptable to measure the results of the show from the work you will do before, during and after the show.
What are the top questions to ask the show so that you can optimise your results?
- Why do you like my Brand?
- Why do you think my Brand should be exhibiting at the show? (Does the answer match your measurable goals? )
- Which Brands are in competition with mine according to you?
- Which Brands are in synergy with mine?
Those last 2 questions cannot remain totally unanswered. - How do you know whether you have retailers for my Brand at the Show? Who do you have in mind? Why?
- Location – Request a floor map and position the brands on the map which are around your space. Does it make sense?
- Number of Brands (& names) exhibiting at the show with the same product style as mine?
- Number of Brands (& names) exhibiting at the Show at the same price point as mine?
- As regards to the "right" Brands exhibiting at the show, when did they join the Show for the first time? This season or previously?
- Why have some exhibitors left the Show? What percentage of new brands come to the Show?
- Can you put me in touch with some retailers? If you cannot help me then Why?
- Which Brands would you recommend I speak to? (similar price point/ style).
Call 2/3 past exhibitors and ask insightful questions to understand how they have prepared the show & what were the results they got. Get the real reasons.
